A bit about me..
Hi, my name is Eva (or E) Monxy.
I’m an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist, (BA, Dip. Couns) based in Folkestone, but currently working exclusively online since 2020. I integrate Person-Centred and Psychodynamic therapeutic models, amongst other skills and techniques to create a tailored approach to meet my clients needs to the best of my abilities.
I believe that it's important for everyone to have access to affordable, accessible, non-judgemental therapeutic services to support their growth, help them face challenges, and give them the opportunity to understand themselves better. I’m strongly invested in anti-racist, accessibility aware, autonomy centred, transcultural, fat positive and kink positive practices. I am an occasional Guest Lecturer at University of Westminster in both Psychology and Gender Expansiveness in Therapy. My writing on Gender & Therapeutic Practice has been published in the Irish Journal of Counselling & Psychotherapy (IJCP, Winter 2024).
I am a Registered Member of BACP, the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. This means that I work within their Ethical Principles and adhere to the Professional Occupational Standards, ensuring that I practice therapy within a rigorous professional framework. You can review the ethical framework here.
I am trans / non-binary, a native East Londoner, and came to therapeutic work after a career in the film industry.
